Like most reviewers, this mat is not the thickest. We need to put it on our padded area rug to sleep on it overnight, but it's great for watching tv beside my little dog, who isn't allowed on our sofa. Pretty firm and cannot feel the bed frame underneath - we find it very comfortable for sittingreadinglaying down - haven’t slept on it but imagine it would be fine. Love the mattress - but horrible experience with the delivery and Wayfair follow-up. Fed Ex delivered to the wrong city/address, after much follow-up with Fed Ex and Wayfair, I received a shipment with the wrong size mattress. After additional follow-up with Wayfair, I finally received the correct item. The time I had to spend was way too much, and Wayfair did not provide sufficient support and customer service.
